1.3	New slabs of the 3 new plank types. Wood slabs behave as wood, not as stone. Cocoa Plants that generate on the sides of jungle trees, which can be harvested for cocoa. Cocoa Beans have a new texture. Cocoa Beans drop from jungle tree leaves at the same rate as apples. Villagers spawned from spawning eggs will get a random profession. Wooden tools can be burned in furnaces. "Large Biomes" world type.^[1] Fix for glitchy mob prediction in multiplayer.^[2]^[3] Large amount of internal changes.^[4] Silk Touch will be able to pick up Ice and Glass Panes.^[5] Stackable items now stack outside inventory when thrown to the ground individually. Easier item manipulation within inventory Brewing Stands allow use of shift clicking to put items in it. ⇧ Shift+clicking can now be used to wear armor. Dispensers can place Minecarts on rails and Boats in water. While in Creative Mode, players can supply a powered minecart with fuel by right clicking it as if they were holding coal. Flying in Creative Mode is no longer affected by water and lava. Commands in Singleplayer.^[6] Optional bonus chests placed close to the player when creating a new world.^[6] Demo mode playable through non-premium Minecraft.net accounts.^[6] Different crafting recipe for books. Added Book and Quill and Written Book. Ability to write in book and quill (up to 50 pages), save them to edit later, and sign them and title them to finish off the book. All multiplayer sounds have been fixed.^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10] Fishing lines are now visible in SMP.^[9]^[11] Hardcore in multiplayer (HMP).^[12] Better chunk loading in SMP.^[13] ⇧ Shift-clicking in Creative improved. Singleplayer will be a local server.^[14] Specific names for different Wood, Wooden Planks, Leaves, Saplings, Sandstone, Stone Bricks, and Monster Eggs. (e.g. Oak Wood, Birch Plank, Spruce Leaves, Jungle Sapling, Smooth Sandstone, Chiseled Stone Bricks, Stone Monster Egg).^[1] Empty Buckets are now stackable up to 16.^[15]^[16] Trading with Villagers^[17] Added Emerald A new ore block Emerald Ore. New Gravel texture (enhanced version).^[18] Added Ender Chest Villages can spawn in Jungle Biomes (possibly more).^[18] A new type of Golden Apple^[19] with attributes the Golden Apple had before 1.1.^[20] Stars are slightly smaller and slightly brighter ^[21] Added Sandstone Stairs Dispensers will eject water and lava source blocks (from buckets) Will also take water and lava source blocks if there is an empty bucket inside Added Pyramids, a new structure in Desert biomes. Eventual Features, Items, and Blocks

Feature	Description
More sounds and music	More gameplay music and sounds by C418.^[26]
Adventure Mode	Notch mentioned that he wanted to create a "rogue-like" mode where players would be unable to destroy blocks.^[27]
A legitimate way to obtain Sponges	It has been hinted that sponges would come back as a fully functional and obtainable block in a future update^{[citation needed]}. Although the sponge block has been available in creative mode since Beta 1.8, it is currently purely decorative. It was not added and is still not obtainable in survival mode.
More Enchantments	Jeb liked the idea of having more enchantments added to the game.^[28]
More Potions	Jeb stated there would be 2653 more potions to be added to the game.^[29]
Skylands/Sky Dimension	While initially replaced by The End, Notch has expressed interest in adding a new Sky Dimension to replace the original idea.^[30]
Server Portals	According to Get Satisfaction, Mojang has marked a player's suggestion of Server Portals as "Planned."^[31]
Capture the Flag	Announced on Notch's Blog.^[27]
Mounting/Controlling Mobs	The ability to mount and control mobs (possibly horses). Notch confirmed it was planned but will take time at Get Satisfaction.^[32] Also Jeb said on a reddit AMA in April 2012 that he "more or less promised horses to a friend".^[33]
Minecarts as lava boats	Notch has suggested making minecarts act like boats when placed in lava.^[34]
Custom Paintings	Notch has said that custom paintings may feature in a future update.^[35]
Stereoscopic and/or Green/Magenta 3D	Notch said he would add more options for the 3D mode.^[36]
More Powerful Powered Minecarts	Notch indicated on Twitter that he wants to make more powerful Powered Minecarts since Powered Rails made them relatively useless.^[37]
Audio Loops	Audio loops have not yet been added to the game, but may be played when the player is in a specific location (In caves, woods, sea and beside a waterfall).^{[citation needed]}
Friends list	The Minecraft documentary team of 2 Player Productions filmed a Keynote roadmap, also containing this line.^[38]^[39]
Multithreading	The Minecraft documentary team of 2 Player Productions filmed a Keynote roadmap, also containing this line.^[38]

Email/Name Change	Mojang has planned of adding email/name change to the game.^[40]
Special biomes	Jeb stated during his Dreamhack presentation that they were planning on adding more reasons for going to specific biomes.
Dual-wielding	Jeb stated that Notch is working on dual-wielding of items.^[41]^[42]
Portable Fireplaces/Campfires	Jeb responded in favor to a tweet about the ability to make portable "fireplaces/campfires" on the player's travels.^[43]
Spikes or spike blocks	Jeb hinted a possibility of implementing spikes that would work like pistons but push out Spikes. He later considered making a Spike Block that could be pushed by Sticky Pistons instead.^[44]^[45]
Display cases/racks	Notch has stated several times on Twitter that he intends to add some way to display items such as armor and weapons.^[46]
The ability to name Chests	Notch has stated he will add this feature.^[47]
Zipline Mod	Notch had stated that he is interested in working with the zipline mod creator to implement parts of the mod into vanilla Minecraft following MineCon.^[48]
Red Dragon	Notch revealed during the Seecret Friday Updates(#8) that he would add dragons. One being the Ender Dragon, the other being red.^[49]
Pigman	The user Miclee came up with the idea for Pigmen, and Notch originally planned for them to occupy NPC Villages. They are among the list of planned mobs.
More animals	Jon Kagstrom commented on Reddit that he would like to add more animals, such as fish, birds, and tree animals, to make the game seem more 'alive'.^[50]
Different colors of wooden stairs	After initially setting this as "not planned"^[51], Jeb later said they would be added later^[52]
