If our only source for this object's coming existence is the tweet that is cited on the article, I don't think we can really call that an announcement. The tweet just says, "Wooden half-block vs wooden pressure plate?". That doesn't actually say anything about making a wooden half-block; it just states the idea. Does anyone have a better source for this or is this article just a speculation? -Oxguy3 21:56, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

I think this article needs a name change. if the Stone Half Step turned out to be called a Stone Slab wouldn't it make most sense if this was called "wood slab?" Flish 00:22, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there, the item id's for the slabs are 44 (Dmg 0 for the stone slab, 1 for the sandstone slab, 2 for the wooden slab and 3 for the cobblestone slab). I dont know if it would be good if we put all slabs in one article. If we dont: is there a template for damage value? --Marvin 18:54, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

No opinion on the one article thing, but that would help explain why wooden slabs actually require a pickaxe for faster destroying (and, indeed, can only be collected with a pickaxe), and why, upon destruction, they give off the stone's particle burst. 「ダイノガイ千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 19:03, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
