[edit] Deletion
Triple spleef is stupid and doesn't exist, can someone please delete it? 174.63.153.251 15:08, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, anyone can make a type of spleef. If it isn't popular or known, oh well. Déál Wíth Ít Cool12309(T|C) 15:33, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, except for the fact that it's just regular spleef with different block types. It doesn't warrant its own variation. Seriously, I think it needs to go.
174.63.153.251 06:46, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- I say yes. This isn't a community sharing place; only well-rooted and popular Spleef variants should be discussed.Camo Shoe Club 19:23, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
- Well, It isn't THAT stupid as it requires KNOWLEGDE to see which tool is useful against which block type. Also, Minecraft Wiki is seemingly becoming a popular site to visit, so possibly people may want to use these types for their own servers :D BlockBarracade 21:25, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
I'm just... I don't... My brain isn't even functioning properly after reading that sentence. Go away. You're not welcome here. 01:53, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- ...OR we could just make a sub-page in which users could post their own spleef arena types...Spleef Gallery?BlockBarracade 12:01, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Server list
Should we add a list of server currently running Spleef arenas? --Maulrus 19:39, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, think we should. --Greenslimy
Excellent idea, I've also added notch quote :) --citricsquid
This also needs a list of all previous inventors before it was called Spleef. --Maulrus 22:29, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
I made my own version of Spleef: SPLEEFXOR. Explanation:
In spleefxor there is to areas (1 per team), split up with a pit. You are allowed to build on your own area, but not on the other players's area. This puts much strategy into the game as you can make traps and all those things. When building a bridge, you have to stand close at your areas border. That way, you risk to fall when you try to build a bridge. In some games, people decide that if you fall before the game has _really_ begun, you can go up and continue. In other games, a team has only lose when the blocks under their spawn point (which they put in their area) is destroyed, and the players of that team has fallen. TehZ
[edit] People bitchin' about spleef
This is so fucking over rated - B. Ross --Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
- It is, but hey, people apparently need silly games inside games to keep themselves entertained.--Quatroking - Row! Row! Fight the power! 04:26, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
If you don't like spleef then dont talk. iPope

Minors play minecraft. This is an interesting game not only for them, but also for those who like a little simple fun. --HexZyle 05:16, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
[edit] STUFF
This needs to be re-organized.
Maybe a section for Spleef that contains the rules, objective, list of servers, etc.
And another section called Media that has the videos and gallery. Right now it just seems unorganized.
- I agree with the STUFF thing. It is very unorganized. AlexVMiner
There should be a link to a sub-page with spleef variants, listing the prominent ones on the main page. I have a few I helped to create that are too minor for the main list. RealG 21:46, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- No.--Quatroking - Garble Garble! 15:54, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
aw damn i thought i invented this first :( User:TheFreshPrince
Why is this protected? Toadbert
[edit] Unnecessary Link
We don't need the link to Team Skins in the Spleef Team Skins section. It just links back to that section.

[edit] Hey Uh
This page doesn't explain how the game works very well (to me anyways). The video links are nice but some people can't go on Youtube at their computers, so I think some screenshots/images would be nice for this page. Just a suggestion. Jax-Kenobi 20:55, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
[edit] To the person that has permission to edit this:
I have an image for the gallery.
Mind if you add it? Add the information.
- Looks rather unpractical for a spleef arena, since broken ice makes a water spring. Just an FYI.--SpyroCraft007 was here 18:07, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- Not that I'm suggesting adding this image, but broken ice only turns into water if there is something below it. Floating broken ice just disappears. This is mentioned on the Ice page. —KPReid 18:57, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- I made an ice spleef arena quite some time ago and recently made a video explaining how to do it ( look up mini minecraft ice spleef on youtube. I have a tutorial explaining how to do it.). It uses a layer of signs below the ice. so when broken it turns to water and after a while freezes again. and you fall straight through the water through the signs into a lower area. The only slight catch is some people if they jump at the right time can swim instead of falling through the water, but you can usually call them on it. Razzlero 01:24, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Also forgot to add the great thing about ice spleef is that the arena repairs it's self after a small while because of the water refreezing. Razzlero 01:30, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Pokémon - needs é
The Pokémon name in the screenshots needs an é (Alt+0233). You can also copy/paste my é's if you don't have a NumPad.
- Does anyone know why? Technically it should be Poke'mon...is the é some sort of company logo? --HexZyle 05:18, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- No, it isn't. 'e' and 'e'' are just quicker to type because they're on most computer keyboards, whereas 'é' is not. Hold down ALT while typing 0233 on the numpad. --114.76.17.147 07:20, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Pictures
I've got a few pictures I wouldn't mind showing you guys - another approach to a Spleef Stadium. How do I add them?
[edit] Question
Why is this locked? In my honest opinion, it still needs a lot of fixing up.--Artsy 17:15, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Probably because people kept adding comments about how they think the game is stupid, idk. I didn't even notice it was locked until now. Zkyo 17:23, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- It needs to be unlocked. Spleef is a cornerstone of the community even in Beta.

[edit] Videos
I think one video is enough, and the firstone is just perfect([1]), and should be putted in the new in-wiki video tag. –The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yurisho (Talk|Contribs) 10:33, 15 July 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~
[edit] New Spleef Gamemode
There is a gamemode that I have created, and that lot's of people like, for Spleef. It is called Class Spleef. The players choose a class, and has different advantages.
The Spy can place red blocks near players. If the player saw the red block placed near them, they must change their render distance to tiny for about 10 seconds. He also has second chances.
The Worrier can place walls to stop others from breaking the floor beneath them.
The Bird (Must have fly hack to play this class!) can fly. They can only fly after 10 seconds have passed since the beginning of the game. The Bird can only fly for 5 seconds, then must wait a further 10 seconds to fly again. If the 10 seconds have passed, and they fall, if they fall before reaching the bottom floor, they can swoop back up and have a second chance.
Also, introducing Blind Spleef. All players must change their render distance to tiny, and the rules stay the same. You cannot see the players or the holes further away. Be careful!--iSmile
[edit] Unprotection
Woah, woah Pentaclam, slow down! I think the article was much more in-depth before the new edits, and you deleted several gametypes. I have never played Spleef, myself, but the general language of the article before fit with the wiki style. Verhalthur (talk)(contribs) 18:46, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
A bit late on this, I guess, but I just wanna clarify that I completely rewrote the article because it only relevant in the context of classic mode. I rewrote it to fit in with Beta and the newer Minecraft culture. Pentaclam 15:12, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- The article as it is now is much improved, as the version I was describing was a work-in-progress. Nice job! Verhalthur (talk)(contribs) 15:16, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Edits and Pics
I've recently edited the article, on the 12th of August, by adding a screenshot of Spleef being played in Beta, screenshots of my own server's Beta Spleef stadium, and screenshots of experimental generic Beta Spleef stadiums, including example arenas of the variations of Spleef. I've also expanded the guide to making a Spleef arena to make more sense, and elaborate on methods of construction, for both Classic and Beta.

[edit] Cold Water
In minecraft classic, i made a spleef arena with cold water, for thoose who don't know what that is, it kills you when you touch it.(Exists Only In Servers on Classic Mode). I think it looks cool, and more people should try it. Tropius 00:16, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Tropius
[edit] Credit
Some fags keep trying to change the page to take credit for creating Spleef. If we can't come to an agreement, I say we just skip over the subject all around.
98.238.40.109 18:08, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
[edit] How it started
I believe there should be a citation here, especially since the Sat 12 Nov 2011 02:56 revision removed a lot of content in that section from the Wed 9 Nov 2011 01:34 one. --114.76.17.147 07:29, 12 November 2011 (UTC) I think we should just skip the subject of how it started alltogether. It'll only result in whiny babies arguing over credit. 03:40, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
- Since no one really knows where it came from exactly, I don't think it should be there for that reason. Drenay 18:02, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. It kinda jumbles the article too, and for the sake of keeping it simple and genuinely informative, I've deleted the "How it started" section. - Medessec 03:25, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Spleef "Variations"
Can we not put loads of pointless and irrelevant "spleef variations" to spam the bottom of the article? People can discover their own specific little variations by going out and visiting servers. We can have a couple of major spleef variations, but not a whole bunch that branch off from each other. I think this article should be an article on what spleef is, not a how-to or guide on all the different possible variants of spleef.
Medessec 03:24, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Or it could be moved to a separate 'Spleef Variants' article.

[edit] Roller coaster spleef
This looks like a really fun minigame... but it isn't spleef. --114.76.17.147 12:45, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
