[edit] texture

The texture for the old on/off wire was removed and replaced with a de-colorized "white redstone" in a different place. Quazilla 22:35, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

They work like grass textures now and are colored procedurally. --Barracuda 22:40, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Yup, simply pointing it out for those that haven't looked at the terrain.png yet. Quazilla 20:35, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit] 1.5 update

The two texture panels below the redstone wire are required to be empty; They seem to act as an overlay, and any textures in these two blocks (like a grid pattern) will overwrite it. Should be noted in the trivia. Ghost2 06:13, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Wire "Textures"

I have beta 1.5_01, and it is on the default texture pack, and I have I have noticed that when I am hitting an unrelated block, and switch to hitting redstone wire w\out releasing the mouse button it flashes a seemingly random texture; does Notch know about this, and was it changed in 1.6(+)?Argetlam007 06:10, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

In multiplayer, blocks may "repop" for a very short time. Are you in singleplayer? Calinou - talk × contribs » 07:56, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I was in SSP, but I haven't tried it again since. Argetlam007 21:53, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

[edit] 1.0.0 Redstone Texture Update

The texture of redstone has been changed, so we need a new picture.

[edit] Merge with Redstone

CommentCSS.png
Merge. I believe that the pages shoule be merged on the basis that redstone repeaters are not split up into two pages. Redstone repeaters (the item) and redstone repeaters (the block) are on the same page, so why not with redstone dust? It would help declutter the wiki, making it easier for people to find the information they need, as well as ensure consistency.

(reply with {{c|pro|Merge.}} for support of the merge, and {{c|con|Don't Merge.}} for oppsal of the merge.) JamesTheAwesomeDude 13:51, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Redstone dust / wire and water

According to the page:

Water streaming over redstone wire will destroy the wire without dropping Redstone Dust

I have found that water flowing over dust that is placed on the ground as a wire will turn it into the pick-up-able dust item that can be replaced. So either I'm misunderstanding this, or it is out of date.

Keybounce 04:44, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

This refers to a longstanding bug where water flowing straight down onto blocks such as redstone dust and torches will destroy the block without dropping it as an item. I rephrased it to be a bit clearer. -- Orthotope 06:03, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
