What about Redstone Wire? Does this along with Redstone Dust since the wire is made from the dust? --Psych 19:34, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Redstone Wire, as a "block" (that is, on the ground) is kind of a technical block, like the arm and plunger of a piston. You can't have it in your inventory without cheats or craft with it, unlike Redstone (the dust). Placing Redstone dust and Torches onto leaves places it, but doesn't take from your stack, duping it. --Vipermagi 19:16, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Redstone/Monster Spawner
I used TooManyItems mod to get a pig spawner, then was able to place red stone on it. Is this a bug or not? Just wanted to report it. --Throex 21:38, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
It is not a bug; its normal. You can place torches on it too. I see how you think of it as a bug due to a monster spawner being transparent. Pigisdeado 14:13, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

- Now, as of beta 1.9 pre-release 3, it can be brewed with a "Water Bottle" to create "Mundane Potion" Mundane Potion has no effect, and can only be brewed with a fermented spider eye to make "Potion of Weakness." This makes Mundane Potion useless and time-consuming, except to save fermented spider eyes.

I think Redstone Ore can't be smelted into Redstone Dust. This is a contradiction to Redstone_(Ore)#Trivia, where is said:
Though it is called an "ore" it cannot be smelted into a pure substance.

You can smelt redstone ore into redstone dust. But you can only obtain redstone ore through the silk touch enchantment and it is inneffecient anyway... Pigisdeado 14:19, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

There should be a block of redstone, like diamond blocks. It would be very useful as storage because I find redstone a lot and have two chests full of it. -- Pigisdeado 22:27, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

12w15a has a bug where if you use the new creative mode pick block function on redstone dust (placed) it gives you the technical block for wire.--Pigisdeado 18:15, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
