A poisonous potato is a food item with the same effects as a spider eye; it poisons the player for a short time and restores 2 hunger points. The poisonous potato is a rare drop when harvesting potato plants (2% chance of dropping from fully grown plant). The poisonous potato cannot be planted or baked like a normal potato, and has no uses other than as a food item. After eating a poisonous potato, there is a 60% chance you will lose 2 (
) from the poison.

- A poisonous potato restores more hunger points than a regular potato.
- The patches of green on the poisonous potato are similar to real life. Green patches on real potatoes ("sun scald") contain higher concentrations of solanine, a toxic glycoalkaloid which is found mainly in the stems, sprouts and flowers of a potato plant.
- A poisonous potato is 1 pixel shorter than a normal potato or baked potato.
