Ink Sacs are obtained by killing Squids and is the darkest possible primary color dye. As of Beta 1.5, with the addition of statistics, the item name "Ink Sac" does not appear when the cursor is hovered over its Image in the statistics page. This is due to it referring to all dyes combined.

• Can be combined with Wool to make Black Wool.
• Can be applied to sheep.
• Can be used to craft book and quill (in the latest snapshot).
• Ink Sacs are a critical component of gray and light gray wool dyes. However, they are not necessary for wool of these colors, as black, gray, and light gray sheep can be found naturally since Beta 1.2.
• The recipe for light gray dye is not as cost-effective as making gray dye, then combining with another bone meal to make light gray dye. It yields 4 units of dye per ink sac vs. 3 in the first.
