Gunpowder, formerly known as sulphur, is an item that can be obtained by killing Creepers, Ghasts, Witches, or looting dungeon chests.

[edit] Uses
Gunpowder is used to craft TNT, fire charges, firework stars, and firework rockets and can be brewed with any potion to make a splash potion. Fire charges were added in snapshot 12w04a, and have the same properties as flint and steel, except can be launched from a dispenser.

- Although gunpowder has the appearance of gray redstone dust, it cannot be placed on the ground as a wire.
- In the new 1.5 texture pack format, Gunpowder's sprite is called "sulphur.png".
