For the ore, see Gold Ore.The Gold nugget is an item obtained by killing zombie pigmen, making it a renewable resource. It can also be crafted by putting a Gold Ingot into any space in the crafting table. One gold ingot will yield nine Gold Nuggets. Nine gold nuggets placed in the crafting table will yield one gold ingot. They have several uses in crafting: a golden carrot or glistering melon for brewing, or a golden apple for eating. Also, Gold nuggets can be combined with gunpowder and dye to create a Firework star that bursts in a star-shaped explosion.

- On some servers without a money system, Gold is used as a currency as 81 nuggets = 9 ingots = 1 gold block allowing for goods to be purchased.
- The standard drop rate of gold nuggets is about 55%. This includes the occasional gold ingot, counted as 9 nuggets.
