Ghast Tears are items dropped by Ghasts when they are killed. Ghasts drop only one Ghast Tear. It can be difficult to acquire ghast tears due to the difficulty of killing ghasts and due to the fact that ghasts often hover over lava.

Use

Ghast Tears are items used in brewing. They will turn an awkward potion into a potion of regeneration, or a water bottle into a mundane potion.

History

In 1.9 pre-releases 2-3 Ghast Tears were used to make Potions of Healing, but since 1.9 pre-release 4 they have been used in Potions of Regeneration. This was due to the sheer amount of difficulty in obtaining them.^[1] Glistering Melons were added to create Potions of Healing.
