Brick is a block first appearing in the 0.28_01 update. The block has 1 texture that is put on all sides of the block.
Brick is available for use in Creative mode. It is mostly used for home building.
Brick cannot be found (without map editing) in Survival mode test or Indev. It can be crafted in Alpha mode by placing 4 Bricks in a square pattern. Brick is very strong but rather hard to gather in large amounts. It needs a pickaxe to mine. Brick is durable against explosions and isn't flammable. Also, when brick was introduced into Alpha, it received a new texture. It makes the bricks older, and more like the color of the clay bricks.

Trivia
- Notch has said that there may be more kinds of brick blocks in different colors in the future.
- For a brief time, huge brick pyramids were a rare structure that could spawn in a old Infdev version. See this video, this video and the end of this video to see the pyramids and exploration of them. The pyramids were completely solid; they had no inside rooms. A strange quality about these pyramids is that if one dug under it, a layer of dirt and stone extended under the pyramid. This suggests it spawned right on top of the terrain instead of being a complete pyramid with the bottom parts underground. It is unknown if pyramids can still be found in present Infdev versions, but as reports have died down in finding pyramids, it is likely that they are no longer in infdev.
